The Crenshaw series was inspired by my time living in Crenshaw. The media's portrayal of success often felt incomplete, missing the diverse achievements I witnessed firsthand. The Crenshaw Kids series is my way of showcasing the varied successes I observed in this vibrant community. While the saying "a rose that grew from concrete" is well-known, I aim to highlight the many other flowers that have blossomed from the same concrete on that block, celebrating the unique and resilient forms of success that thrive there.
