A Walk along the path of Days of Red

The courage to be sure footed amongst the chaos, where the dust prevents us from seeing our next step. A calm cool confidence plastered and embedded through any doubt; solidifying the liquid into something trustworthy.

I seem to be drawn time and time again back to a theme of trusting oneself as we each walk our own journey. What does that journey look like for you? Sometimes, the path is clear. Other times, it's hard to see where to step next. In this painting I wanted to focus on the courage it takes to be confident and sure footed in our steps while pursuing our path.

I wanted my marks to emphasize the oxymoron of exhaustion and energy, the contrast of feeling broken down yet built up in the same way: these liquid marks set alongside structural ones. All these elements that seem contradicting are to help the viewer feel the contrast one often does in the common question of "Am I making the right choice" or "is this the path I was meant to take".
